Portogruaro: a tiny piece of Venice

5 Sealinthefog Portogruaro - a tiny piece of Venice

Do you remember our adventure by boat in the Marano lagoon? Yes, it was ages ago, almost a ‘throwback Thursday’…

In that same period, on one of the many gloomy and crispy days when we couldn’t go to the beach we visited Portogruaro. Continue reading

Cividale: a jewel of Friuli Venezia-Giulia

1 Sealinthefog Cividale - a jewel of Friuli Venezia-Giulia

Cividale is a tiny town, not far from my home city Udine. Despite its small dimensions and tranquility, it a little jewel that offers to the visitors the beauty of its history. From the Romans, to the Longobards, the Carolingians, the Republic of Venice, to the Austrian Empire, Cividale has been an important political and commercial centre for the region Friuli Venezia-Giulia throughout the ages and its past kings and sirs have left some amazing traces of their lives.

A bite of Sicily

33 Sealinthefog A bite of Sicily

Last year, not long after our return in Italy from Madrid, one of our closest friends moved back to her hometown as well. 7 sealinthefog mercatino piazzola sul brenta padova

Last Autumn, while participating at the flea-market of Brugine, where we got rid of as many things as possible before leaving Italy and where we were considered one of the cutest stands of the market (or at least this is what a couple of the other vendors told us: we still don’t know why but it was really sweet of them!), we also visited with a friend a huge and famous antiques market in the same area of Padova. Flea market-ing

9 Sealingthefog Mercatino di Brugine Padova Dicembre 2013

As you probably read in this post with some months to plan our move to Jerusalem we were able to actually decide what to leave in Italy. The things that we carefully packed and stored are the ones that we ideally would like to have in our future house, the one we will hopefully have the day we’ll find a place we really like or the place that we wouldn’t mind calling home, at least for a bit. Continue reading
