Going out on a Shabbat evening in Jerusalem

4 Sealinthefog Going out on a Shabbat evening in Jerusalem

Jerusalem is enchanting. I fell in love with it the first time I visited in 2008. The old city and its contrasts are breathtaking. And when people ask me about it, I just answer that I am firmly convinced that everybody, with religious or non-religious beliefs or with no beliefs at all, should visit this magical place, with its beauty and its infinite problems.

But living here can be quite hard sometimes. There are weekends when we would just like have the possibility to have a beer (and sometimes to party all night). We got used to have a vast offer of bars and clubs in Madrid open every day and we still can get rid of the habit of having an Italian style aperitivo on Friday nights.

And well, Jerusalemite Friday nights can be challenging. So we decided to make a list of the open bars on Shabbat evenings. We thought some of you might find it useful. We included the ones we know, the ones we checked, the ones in the city centre. We are sure there are many more, so if you wish to add some please leave a comment to this post (name and address would be perfect)!
